ABOUT

The Toll House comes by its name honestly. Originally a stop on the toll road from the valley to Ukiah (the town “over the hill”), the grand Victorian served, in later years, as a restaurant, bed & breakfast, and residence.

A comprehensive restoration has preserved the inn’s original charm while integrating modern comforts. Its four guest rooms can sleep up to twelve guests. Available as a whole house rental only, the house includes a delightful country kitchen, welcoming dining room, sunny patios, and spacious yard areas.

With eyes on a future as a guest farm and ecological retreat center, owners Jon Rubenstein and Karin Swann hope the Toll House will serve as a gathering place for positive change.
